Each hardwood block is 8" (203.20mm) long and 2-3/4" (69.85mm) wide.

Tip: It's a great clamping caul for glue-in fret jobs, too.

The shorter 4" Wooden Radius-sanding Blocks are better for spot leveling frets or fingerboards.

For the professional shop we have the 18" long Aluminum Radius-sanding Beam for faster, and more precise shaping.

Cut and stick!
3M Stikit Gold Paper Self-adhesive Abrasives are the right width for our leveling and radius sanding tools. Attach 220/320-grit for fret leveling, and 80/120-grit for shaping the fingerboard.

Pressing blocks

Although I never used them for sanding (I prefer straight block), these blocks are perfect tools for installing frets with epoxy. Just use some padding (i make it from thick sheet of polyethylene), and press frets with radius blocks. All my necks are slightly multi-radius, so i can use, for example, 12-14-16 blocks to press all frets simultaneously. But if, for some reason, i need to use constant radius, i'm just waiting a little longer with three separate pressings.

I will order similar aluminum beams soon.

Economique et efficace

Parfait pour mettre en forme les touches et aussi égaliser les frettes. Dure certainement moins longtemps que son homologue en alu, mais cela reste un bon rapport qualité prix!

Great purchase!

I've got a Squier Fretless J-bass and I found that 1) the fretlines on the board were raised very slightly and you could feel them as you move your finger along the board and that, more importantly, 2) in pursuit of super low action on the bass (since it's a fretless), the string would die out and choke at the 7th fret position on the bass excessively, under almost all conditions (either with flat neck or a little bit to a lot of bow and low string height).

So I bought this block and went over the fingerboard with 220, 320, 400, 600, 800 and 1000 grit sandpapers and these two issues had been eliminated! Plus the (ebonol) board looks really beautiful now! Very smooth feel and appearance. I thank StewMac very much for a great product and a great price!

Stew Mac's got your back.

Received an 8"x 12R sanding block with a couple of small knots in the working face and was not happy about it but needed to use it. I sent an email to Stewmac and they sent me a perfect one and told me they didn't want the other one back. That's the way it's supposed to be! That's why I give them most of my business and have since the early '70's.

Ultra precision!

I have no idea why a shop would do without a complete set of these blocks! With 320 grit 3M self stick paper fret leveling is easy and quick.
