Precision Router Edge Guide

I had never used a tool like this but it was rather simple if somewhat finicky...slowly does it is the motto here and do a couple of dry runs first!!!!!

This is a pretty nice attachment worth having if you already have the associated base plate. I would not recommend it if you don't. The main reason being that it will not fit into the deep cutaway on a tele body. Wish I would've known. I would have gone with another system for binding channels.

This took me from novice fiddler to very confident guitar builder. So nice and easy to use, mandatory tool for binding !!

It's a nicely made thing, not easy to set but good to use. I see the issue about flat things being ok and curves not, but it does what it looks like it does.

As I am making ukuleles with a flat front and only a very slightly curved back, the edge guide, combined with the Stew-Mac #4032 router bit, produced a beautifully sharp ledge for the binding, and for a reasonable price. The most difficult part is plucking up the courage to make the first cut!

The tool is nicely made and is looking very good. When an instrument with a (slight) arched top or back is your goal, you probably are better of spending more money on a true channel jig. This tool is designed to follow the top of the instrument where it's more adequate to follow the sides.
