This machined aluminum tool has a steel shank and three high-speed steel cutters that are heat-treated for durability. We include instructions for making the larger auxiliary drill press table, guide fence and hold-down you'll need. The Safe-T-Planer is supplied with a sharpening wheel, hex wrench and instructions.

A nice solution

Simply put, if you have a drill press, but no way to plane or thickness wood, then this is a very useful tool. It has some difficulties with highly figured wood, but then, so do most planers. The instructions are very good, and the extra set of instructions from StewMac is very helpful.
