The saws are also handy for small trimming jobs (nuts, saddles, bridge blanks, violin pegs and soundposts, for example), and are useful for cleaning fret slots.

Each saw has a 5" x 7/16" (127mm x 11.11mm) steel blade with 22 teeth per inch, and a comfortable turned wooden handle.

The 0.010" Gauged Saw is included in the Essential Nut Making Tool Kit, which has all the basic tools you'll need for shaping, string-spacing, slotting and fitting string nuts like a pro.

A good help making my bone nut

I've made a copy of a Esquire guitar, the 1st electric guitar made by Leo Fender, I have made the nut whit a camel bone, the first string was too high but I haven't a gauged saws set in my garage. I bought the 0,010" to cut the nut in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd strings, the result its perfect

Sharp and Accurate

I purchased this 0∙010” (0∙25mm) saw to cut the initial starting slots in bone and tusk nuts prior to using fret files, these files are very accurate and sharp and are ideal to cut slots in nuts also cutting down nuts to fit various guitar widths, an excellent saw and very good value for money.

super sharp and percise

I use the 0.010 one all the time for nut work. Because it's so sharp and clean I used my first one for other jobs as well - not a good idea. The plade isn't just supersharp, it's also very delicate and looses a tooth easily, so treat it accordingly!

Perfection!

Stetting up a bone nut was never so easy until I got the set and the layout ruler. After the first nut I used these on, my confidence and speed increased significantly. Highly recommended if your building 1 or 100 nuts.

My Gauged Saws are my work horses. I love them!

The Gauged Saws are a must have in a Luthier's workshop. I like the quality and versatility of these saws. They can be used to roughing in new nut slots and then smooth them with abrasive cords, the Double-edge nut files or the Gauged Nut Slotting files.

Setup is one of the most common service performed in a Luthiers workshop and you can imagine all the money that could be spent if the Gauged and Double edge's nut files were used to roughing in nut slots. You can even use these saws to cut nut and saddles to size and even braces and other small wood pieces. These files are economical and won't make a whole in your wallet if you have to replace one. I love them!
