doesn't fit well on true fender guitar
I would like to thank the staff at StewMac for the excellent service and awesome parts they provide that helped me finish my first Telecaster guitar build project. From the Nitrocellulose Lacquer, Pickguard, Ferrules, to the Gotoh Bridge everything was perfect. thanks a bunch - StewMac Rocks
Title says it all - looks ok, but the one I received doesn't really fit very well - needs some serious trimming around the neck and the control plate. I'd probably look elsewhere and give this one a pass.
A bit pricey, but good quality. Very Satisfied
I would like to thank the people of stewmac for prompt service and great communication thru out the process of my order. My item arrived in good condition and had no differculties what so ever, applying it to my guitar was no problem... all screw holes lined up perfectly with no adjustments to be made. Thanks everyone at stewmac from one very satisfied customer. In saying that, I have ordered more products from them...
Pickguard not like the " true 5 hole Tele pickguard that I bought a few years ago. this one has a "glossy" finish" unlike the Bakelite "dull" finish I was expecting, like the one I had bought from yuo guys in the past . Not as thick as the I bought earlier. this is an " offshore" ( Korean) one as it had a "country of origin" sticker. that may explain the price.
First let me say this is a good guard, even more so for the money involved. I had a new build that didn't have the screw holes in it so I matched it up on this tele and was good to go. Around the control pot area needed a little touch with the dremel to make it fit smoothly but nothing serious. NOW, if you have a US or MIM Tele, you might want to think twice as it didn't match up on mine. But over all for a project guitar it is nice.
I was worried whether the screw holes would match up on the new pickguard but it arrived and I had it installed in about 10 minutes. It's a good quality replacement and I would definately order again if I needed another replacement.
I guess I should've done my research. To be fair, it might fit with some cutting and maybe a little drilling on the body, but without mods, it won't fit. Looks amazing though.
I have an American Standard Telecaster (1999) and this fit pretty well. the only thing that wasn't spot on was the alignment on the screw hole at the eleven o'clock position looking at the graphic. I was able to get the screw in but at a slight angle which was not noticeable. I was happy to get the white one off the guitar as I had always wanted a black one. All the other replacement plates I had seen were 35-50 dollars which is insane. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars was the hole alignment. An that was only one screw.
