Great material for multiple pickguards. It routed well and finished off with a good fine edge.
Making your own pickguard is not the easiest thing in the world. Get a feel for the material by working on some scrap, and don't be discouraged if you blow your first try. If you want one pickguard, get enough material for two. Here's a hint: don't be afraid to break out the hand file. Keep the router away from sharp corners and other weak spots where it might grab and destroy your piece - do those by hand. This is nice thick material, equivalent to factory. This pickguard makes large pickguards or several small guards. With a beveling router bit you can make a beautiful guard that will dress up that next project.
I needed a new pickguard for my Firebird VII. A used pickguard was too costly so I bought some of this material which was of the same thickness. Works great and looks even better!
In the process of restoring a 68'Mosrite Celebrity. The W/B/W material matched great !!Cut new control plate and pickguard , Looks like the original stuff ! THANKS !!!
Excellent material, made a new guard for my flying V and it came out beautifully.
Once I figured out that I had to move the material against the spin of the router bit, it cut/beveled just fine. I will use the material again for my next project.
I have used this product several times in the recent past and find it to be high quality , very affordable and very easy to work with . It's surface is very resiliant to pick marks and maintains a very nice gloss over time . My customers are very satisfied with the results and I will continue to use StewMac pick guard material as well as other fine products
