Tortoloid Pickguard Material

Tortoloid is a new pickguard material produced exclusively for us by luthier Mario Proulx. Made from poured resins and dyes, it combines the patterns and color of vintage tortoise shell with the stability of modern plastic. Like natural shell, no two Tortoloid pickguards have exactly the same pattern. Luthiers will welcome the superior color consistency and vintage look.

Supplied in a 5" x 7-1/2" x .030" (127mm x 190.5mm x .76mm) sheet for cutting your own custom pickguard shape.

Tortoloid cuts easily with sharp scissors when warmed in hot water, or gently with a hair dryer. Work slowly. The cut edges can be sanded and polished.
