what else do they need to be?

These are the real deal, indistinguishable from the OEM dots on my guitars that have dots. That's why I was pleasantly surprised how inexpensive they are on StewMac. I scalloped one of my fretboards from the 13th fret up, and of course destroyed the dots on those frets in the process. I thought about leaving it as is, since "distressed" is kind of the theme of that guitar to a certain extent anyway; but when I saw how cheap it was to replace them, I ordered a few, drilled a shallow hole in the recessed fretboard and glued these in. Hey presto! Fixed!

Very nice dots. Diameter is cosistent, and pearl looks great.

Since I patronize StewMac a good bit I am glad you have a small selection of basic inlays available so that I don't always have to buy inlays from another source. Dots, stars, and diamonds are about all I am capable of inlaying anyway so it is convenient to buy them where I shop most often.

The consistant quality and quick shipping will keep me coming back for more. This restored Wolfram Trimuph (1893) vintage plays and sounds great and the pearl dot in the patented unremovable bridge peg fit exactly.

Dots were exactly as described for size. Very high quality look on a lap steel guitar I just finished. Made the fretboard look great! Will buy again for next project.

The mop dots came and were of decent quality...however I would prefer them to be a bit thicker. These are being inlaid into billiard cues.

These MOP dots are luminescent, perfectly round and consistent. What more could you ask for in a dot? ~Beau Hannam Guitars~

I recently installed these on my Tricone restoration... they match the manufacturers dots perfectly, sanded easily, and have a nice shine to them.

What can I say that hasn't been said. These dots are consistent and look great. I've used these on 4 builds now, and the one problem I had (with just this order)was that 2 of the dots were a tad bit over-sized. Yes, I checked them with a micrometer. No big deal though, just sanded them down a bit and they dropped in like the rest. That being said, that's 2 out of a total of 40ish dots, that's some good quality control if you ask me.
