Each one exactly the same size, thickness and coloration make for a perfect looking job. Stew-Mac has provided quality parts for at least as long as I have used them.
Fit and looked great in my 1954 Gibson ES-145. The gold pearl looked vintage and belonged with the other fret board dots.
the dot inlays are the easiest and fastest way on a mandolin fretboard and gives a nice traditional look. always fit perfect
I used a drill press and kept everything straight then glued in with super glue... used a 12" block to clean up... came out really nice!
I have used the 1/4" pearl dots as fretboard position markers for years. The always fit the hole drilled by my 1/4" forstner bit.
