These dots look great and are easy to install. Easiest to do on a bare slotted unfretted installed fingerboard. Just drill a shallow flat-bottomed hole with a 1/4" Forstner bit, put a drop of Crazy Glue in, and press in the dot. Then level it with the wood with a file, not sandpaper, and polish. Even without the glue, the dots are tight, so don't test fit them. The often-seen method of drawing X's between the frets to mark center is not accurate at all, draw a centerline and then mark crosses with a ruler or even just a Mk I eyeball.
Great product and easy to use. Will purchase these again !
I have used stewmac dot markers many many times and everytime I order they are exactly what I was expecting. Great as usual
With the diameter given, all I had to do is choose the correct drill bit, drill the places that the dots will be placed, glue and press the dots into the fingerboard, let dry, level the dots and polish. That You. Ken
Could not be easier. Get the right drill bit and take your time locating the holes precisely and these will be the thing people look at and say "How did you do that." As opposed to the 100 harder things you pulled off building a guitar.
I've bought some just to keep them as i need, they're good to machine and beauty once finished.
Nothing special here. Plain plastic dots. What you need for standard inlay jobs.
