Almost Too Good

They can be a little frustrating to get on and off if your strap isn't soft and supple or the slot is smallish. Otherwise, it's foolproof, low-profile and very secure. If you don't put your strap on and off a lot, it's the ticket.

Love these!

First saw these on a custom bass from Birdsong... They are great. Never had a strap slip off and cheap and easy to use, install... So when I get a new bass, cheap or expensive, I get a set of these and my axe is secure.

Great product

Once again, a great idea that is a simple solution. Especially if you switch straps on different guitars.

Brilliant idea. Could be refined.

What a wonderful concept. Simple & practical. It would be nice if they had cupped one of the buttons just a bit for the curve on the upper bout of a double cut electric. Not a big deal for a guy with a Drexel, tho! These save the aggravation (& expense) of the metal strap lock systems, yet safely lock the strap where it belongs. I have dinged a favorite guitar with the metal hardware that attaches to the strap on the traditional strap locks. With these, EVERY strap fits, & there's nothing mechanical to break, lose, or cause instrument damage.

Great For Kid's Guitars

I am an elementary music teacher and when my students request a strap on their guitar, I use these. They hold on to the strap even through the inevitable twists and twirls that kids put their guitars through. We had a lot of problems with traditional strap pins, which let go of the strap much more easily than these do.

Cheap, durable, useful

I use them in all of my guitars.

I used to drop my old guitar from time to time, so i needed a strap button that helped me to avoid that, but also the chance to use the same strap with my other guitars. This one makes it easy.

They do the job!

Strap buttons effectively prevent the strap from slipping off, although I don't do much moving around when playing. Long term durability of nylon would be an issue, but it's better than plastic.

Gripper Strap Buttons

I've used these Gripper Strap Buttons on several guitars I've built for clients (I'll submit a PICTURE of the latest guitar with gripper strap buttons). They hold the strap in place nicely if you position them correctly (the shape is the key - similar to a strap-lock - just don't jump around a lot or do guitar acrobatics). They also make it very easy to change guitars during a set, plus you don't have to dedicate a strap to them like you do a regular strap-lock.

My only complaint is that I wish these Grippers were cast in something like stainless steel, since I don't know how well the nylon plastic will hold up over time (I'd hate for a $2,500++ guitar to fall because the button broke due to it's age or the guitars weight). StewMac, please think about it???

Good alternative

Much cheaper ,and easier to deal with than some strap locks , especially if you don't do a lot of acrobatics on stage. :)
