Nice look to them though I'm not big on the phillips style screws. Find they strip easy. I was using them some ash for my body and ended up having it a little tight and snapping of the heads. Had to drill them out. My recommendation? If the screw starts to bind a little back it and redrill your pilot hole a touch bigger. You want it snug but not too snug.
Use the correct sized pilot hole and a little soap or wax on the threads of the screws and breakage shouldn't be a concern.
Although they are a little soft, I found that as long as you use the correct sized pilot drill and driver, with a little soap on the thread these screws work fine.
Not sure how others dmamged or broke the screw, but these work fine. As mentioned, use wax or the like so the screw doesn't bind, make sure you make the proper sized pilot hole.
I would not recommend these screws for extremely dense hard-woods. Even predrilled holes at the proper shank diameter, large enough for only the threads to catch the wood still pose the potential for twisting the screw heads off. I then went to Lowes for what I needed. This has been the only product I have had an issue with from Stew-Mac. Thanks.
This was the only screw that fit on Epiphone neck mounting, here in Brazil I just didn't find. They work fine.
They are kind of soft and they bend easily. As important as they are I would gladly pay a little more for Stainless Steel screws. Problem is this is all I can find from anyone.
I am amazed of how the previous reviewer managed to break such a big screw. Use wax or soap on your screws and you'll never break even a tiny one. Quality screws for me, never had a problem.
Don't buy them! I have broken of 3 of them in the same guitar!
