Tele Rhythm Pickup Cover

I wanted to write this to help clarify how to change the pickup cover for a Tele. I had purchased a new Fender pickup set with the chrome cover that is the only option it comes with. My guitar is a Samick Korean built with gold hardware. So I ordered the gold cover from StewMac. The cover is so nice and fit perfectly. A few tips: bend tabs back on bottom of the old cover, unsolder the pickup ground wire that attaches to the front single tab, then bend this tab straight to match the other 2 tabs, now heat outside of the pickup with a hairdryer, the wax will warm and loosen, now you should be able to easily remove the old cover. This was all new to me, so I am sharing for those less experienced as I was. As always StewMac delivers quality parts and incredible fast shipping!

First thing is that these parts come from all over the world. You must consider Thst a PUP cover made in Korea might or might not fit a PUP made in China or Japan. All it takes is to be a few hundredths off and that new part is useless to you. So always measure your parts and before purchasing insist the sellers provide you with their measurements. Saves time money and returned parts. These parts do not fit Chinese PUPs so even though they looked great were useless to me for original PUPs and Guitar Fetish PUPs.
