Bought this for my Mexican Strat. It didn't fit. Holes in cover were off.
Purchased for a custom project guitar. Fit over cavity, no problems,
I made a bad saving not choosing the 3-layer... It also doesn't fit well into Squiers.
I bought this to put on a Vintage Kramer which lost its cover. When I received the part, it was much smaller than the route on the body was designed for. I compared the Stew Mac cover against every Strat, Kramer, & Charvel I own ... its much smaller than all of them. This is NOT an exact replacement part.
Barely covers the trem cavity.
The screw holes matched up with the Mexican Strat I purchased this cover for - but the actual cavity cover was ~2mm smaller on all sides compared to an original Fender part. This cover was also ~1/2 MM in thickness thinner when compared to the original Fender part. Since this cover was undersized it left a sliver of the tremolo cavity visible on one side. It's good enough, but not exact. Cost is low but the description could be more clear on the size and thickness of the cover.
Does the job but it's rather flimsy material. Not as nice as I expected.
Enough said.
I ordered the black cover, but wasn't that impressed, it was rather thin and cheap looking. Perhaps the other colours are better quality.
On a squier guitar you will have a few holes showing, its smaller than the stock one on it. The newer squier strats might be different i don't know, mine is a 98. I'm sure on a Fender it would fit great. Will buy more of these later on!
