Round Rod Tone Ring

This ring has more bottom than the standard rolled brass ring that I normally use. I fitted it on a rim with a rolled brass ring that was too short. The resulting tone was similar to an old Mastertone with a calf skin head. Some great discoveries come from mistakes.

If you made the same mistake that I did, bought a cheap banjo to get started with and soon out grew the thud instead of banjo twang, not all is lost. I bought the brass ring and new head, took a couple of hours to change them out and what a difference. This cheap thing actually rings like the big boys. Thanks guys for having such a product for improving a banjo's sound.

wow! I installed the tone ring on a Rover RB 45 banjo, then I lowered the pot to level with the flinge and what came out of a inexpensive instrument was totally unbelievable. thanks stewart-Mcdonald

I installed this tone ring in a cheap banjo with an aluminum rim (bottle cap rim) and the sound now rings out instead of being swallowed by the pot. I recommend this highly.
