L-Shoe Bracket

The bracket shoe itself is OK though the finish isn't all that one might wish from a product as expensive as this one. It's the tapping that's the issue - if it could have a standard metric thread (M5 x 0.8 pitch, maybe?) it would be so much easier to obtain alternative bolts or set screws to fit them to banjos. Not all banjos are ideally suited by a heavy hex nut on the inside of the rim ..

The finish is quite good, but is a bit more pitted than I had hoped for. Not a mirror finish. The screws were too long for a 5/8" thick rim. An un-elegant solution was to add washers under the screw heads. Shorter screws would work, even with a 3/4" thick rim.

These L shoe brakets are really good value - far cheaper than replating the old ones (Send the old ones back to keep with the instrument for originality) BUT why use #12 24 (7/32 BSW) screws - none in the rest of the world uses them - so they are rare & expensive. I found I had to cut down 28 screws to restore an old instrument & would have much prefered to purchase ones of the correct length.
Still thats life.

Complete as advertised. The bracket was close to the Gold Tone hardware I was matching and looks great.
