NoJak Endpin

The NoJak does work but requires quite a bit of modification to fit into end pin holes made by a standard 1/4" acoustic input jack. A ton of sanding is required to make the plastic cowl fit with the pin inserted at the proper depth. For the customer that wants the flexibility of replacing with a jack at any time, this is certainly ideal. For the customer that simply doesn't want an installed pickup/jack, I would rather fill and re-drill for a standard strap button.

I decided to remove my UST pickup after a good number of years (I never liked the idea of having a clunky 9v battery in there). Since I don't play out often enough, I decided to invest in a good mic to do the recordings with. Minor point, I wish there was one available with the black dot like my original but the quality is great anyway. Big plus is the flexibility to go back if I ever wanted to.

I tore all the electronics out of my 1997 Gibson Early J-45 to make it lighter and to let the saddle sit lower in its slot as it was kinda high and to, hopefully, improve the tone. So, I had this gaping hole where the jack was and this was the least expensive filler. I had absolutely no installation problem like some mention here and the ebony looks original for all intents and purposes. Couldn't be happier.

I found this rather difficult to install. I like what it is trying to do, but a better design is needed.

I ordered several of these as I order many of my instruments drilled for the Fishman type Jack. I discovered that it takes about 10-15 minutes of careful work on a belt sander to sand enough material to allow the unit to fit properly. It is a great concept, but not enough thought went into the research.

I attempted to fill the end pin hole left from a Fishman Matrix in a D28. The insert was much too large and since I did not want to ream out the hole any larger, I used a large washer on the inside of the end block to hold the pin in place.

This is a great solution to an age old problem. The fitting is secure and no glue is needed. As previously advised, slightly tricky to fit but not impossible and overall well worth the effort.

It was no harder to install this than it was to remove the buttonless jack someone installed in my Sigma DR-9. It is a bit tight, but a long allen wrench did the job... no problem. I only wish these were offered in black dot, but oh well. No big deal.

Good product, but tough to get to the allen bolt to tighten it up in the guitar. Needed a pair of vice grips on my regular length allen wrench to get it done. Hard to do inside the body.

Gives a nice tight clean fit. So simple anyone can install it.
