Shelf life is 12-18 months if stored in a cool, dry location. Titebond® Liquid Hide Glue includes an expiration date on the bottle, because it can progressively lose its ability to dry hard, and this change is not visually obvious.

Product was aplied very easy and held great

The fret board had some issues and was opening up. It went on very thin and held great. The cover up was very good.

Shrink glue

This glue works wonders on acoustic and on most applications of electric! It's shrinking aspect in a joint is one of the greatest things a luthier could ask for, bearing in mind that you apply it as recommended and use it for joints of none stress! It's shelf life is a downfall but it sure beats heating up a pot everytime.

Good glue, but need more attenŠµion

I'd work with PUR glues at my workshop, but after try this, wouldn't stop! This glue very good for sound, because after drying it leave thin strong joint. But need more attention than PUR or PVC glues. Use more clamps - this glue is thick. Heat joint before applying glue is a good idea. And do not use it for high-stress joints (like acoustic bridges).

Don't use for high stress joints

This is a good glue in that it dries with a brittle texture - good for transferring sound, not dampening it. But DO NOT use this glue for acoustic Bridges, if you do you'll be regluing it again within 24 hours of putting the strings back on. I had to learn my lesson on three different guitars before I realized it wasn't my workmanship.

Handy to have around

If you repair amps with Tolex, you need this. Beats anything you're going to get at a home repair store. Good adherence, work time with the easy cleanup, much like white glue.

Humidity

In the process of building my first guitar from scratch, I glued kerfing onto one edge of the side rims with this glue. I left it clamped several hours during the 98 degree heat outside under my patio roof. I left it unclamped in the same location overnight. Next morning it had come loose in one tight curve area. The glue residue was tacky to the touch in places where it had been dry the day before. There was very high humidity and I shouldn't have left it outside overnight, but it makes me wonder if it will ever harden sufficiently.

Franklin Liquid Hide Glue

We Really Like The Franklin brand Liquid Hide Glue. We use it in the shop to mount the fiddle necks to the body of the electric fiddles and electric bass fiddles we make. For us it works just as good at room temp as it does heated to 150 to 160f. Clean, up is easy with a damp towel, sands well, we really like it and would recommend it to anyone building or repairing a wood instrument.

Good Glue

An excellent wood glue. Drying and crystallization is excellent for musical instruments. We must pay close attention to recommendations for damp locations is important, more pressing time.
