Until you've used quality double sided tape, you won't know what you're missing. After you use it, you'll wonder why you didn't get it sooner. Not just for instrument building. It works for all kinds of shop projects. When using for routing with plexi templates against bare wood be forewarned that you get ONE use out of it. Don't try pull it off one guitar body and stick it to the next one. Use new tape! Ill always have several rolls of this on hand. If there was a 6 star option id have chosen that.
This double stick tape is a must have for every repair shop. A million and one uses.
Works quite well holding the templates in place. And you can use it for holding other things too. Big roll. Should last many moons.
This is the tape to use with routing templates. It is nice and thin, and holds the template secure.
I thought i'd be using this a few times during my first build. I was wrong, I use it all the time for everything
This stuff goes a long way, I haven't yet put a dent into it.
Strong adhesion, yet easy to remove after you are done. Just used it to make a wood rosette from 1/16 veneer. Held the large piece steady, did not damage the circle when I removed it after routing.
I use this for sticking on the fingerboard slotting template and routing the fingerboard shape. While i usually use only once for safety i have reset my FB shaping template a few times to fine tune which worked well and remained sticky.
I am satisfied
Almost all double sided tape that you buy elsewhere doesn't stick all that well, and if it did it left a flimsy film that tears as it peels off, making removal attempts very difficult without using harsh chemicals that would eat whatever underneath. This tape has a tougher film, so that if you need to remove the tape all you had to do is pick at the corner of the tape and the entire film comes off cleanly, without tearing and leaving no residue. The bonding strength is a little better than normal double sided tape but the release is much better. In fact the adhesive that came with the stewmac pickguard is not as good, it's the same flimsy fiber based film that leaves part of itself on the guitar when you remove it.
