StewMac Medium Fretwire

The stew-mac fret wire was as close to perfect as you get. There was very little need for filing. Mostly a little polishing. The guitar plays beautify. Easy fret job !

I done several guitars in my life and i try all brands of frets , these Frets are the best on the market. I never find anything wrong. It bends easily and is hard enough to dress fine without glue or other stuff from 4 to 13 strings necks !

I did my first fret job using this wire. It is very easy to work with and I'm very happy with the end result. I'll never pay for a fret job again!

If you are using it on your first guitar, you will be impressed. I am still using it on my 16th+ guitar. A definite buy.

Dan is right on with the 152 fretwire. Right height and width and similar to what Gibson and Fender are currently using. Refretted my Gibson Tennessean with .100/.052 and fret was too high and that extra .008 width matters(more railroad track feel). Took the height down to .048 which helped. Used the 152 on '63 Epi Casino. Perfect height and feel.

My next project is my Gibson Chet atkins CE in which I will install the 152 wire. Thanx Dan.Just a note of interest. I was going to have a neck set done on my CE(sitar,chorus effect)until I realized it needed new higher frets(frets are .030 or less). Read an article on the web and the fellow made it clear why nylon string gits need higher fretwire than acoustics. The nylon gives(presses in toward the fingerboard)when fretted and with a low fret you are pressing on wood and not metal(poor string contact) therefore buzzing and such. LOVE those 152 frets. This wire is perfect. Plenty of mass to file and dress. All of Stew Macs fret wire is good stuff. I like the dimension diagrams for each size.

I've been using the medium fretwire and have been extremely happy with the results. Plenty of wire to do any possible dressing that might need to be done. I use the fret saw from StewMac also so the results are perfect every time.
