StewMac Medium Fretwire

The Medium/Highest fret wire - #155 was used recently on a 1960 Convertible Danelectro neck. I found it easy to use and pre-crowning was a breeze. I do it by hand - with gloves of course - so it was a breeze. I actually like the Jumbo wire better but this is just as superb to work with.

wire was uniform and worked great, I was very pleased with the results.

I like to build mountain dulcimers in my spare time and have purchased my fret wire from other sources. However, I decided to try Stewart-MacDonald after my last order of fret wire came coiled so it could fit in a same shipping box. My first fret wire from Stewart-MacDonald was shipped in a nice long box that kept the wire nice and straight, which is nice sine the fingerboard on a mountain dulcimer is flat and not curved. The quality of the product was outstanding. I think I have found a new source for my fret wire.

I have used this size on Fender, Gibson, and Gretsch guitars with excellent results that required the least amount of fret leveling. My latest project on a 1956 Gretsch only necessitated dressing the fret ends.

what can I say all of the fret wire I have purchased from Stewart McDonald has been perfect. I cant say enough about the products and service I get from the staff at Stew mac thanks to everyone keep up the good work.

My May '63 Fender Duo-Sonic needed a fingerboard leveling and new frets. The medium/medium slipped out of the slots (you have to pound out the wire sideways,) so I bought medium/high 6 feet which was more than enough for the fret job. It came out great. I can see why this is Dan's Favorite fret wire. It easy to work and makes for a great job.

This medium/higher fretwire that Dan designed is definitely my favorite. It is high enough for fast picking and also great for chording. Best wire that i have tried.

The stew-mac fret wire was as close to perfect as you get. There was very little need for filing. Mostly a little polishing. The guitar plays beautify. Easy fret job !

I done several guitars in my life and i try all brands of frets , these Frets are the best on the market. I never find anything wrong. It bends easily and is hard enough to dress fine without glue or other stuff from 4 to 13 strings necks !
