High-shine fret polishers

Fret Erasers

Read 8 Reviews   |   Write a Review

An easy new way to make your frets shine! Fret Erasers™ are flexible self-padded rubber blocks embedded with abrasive grits. They're incredibly handy—use them in sequence as a final step on freshly-crowned frets, to erase fine file marks and scratches. The grits are color-coded for convenience. Frets gleam, and play buttery-smooth.

"I used to wrap abrasive papers around small rubber blocks, but that got a little clumsy. Fret Erasers are simpler and faster. No more sandy grit or sharp steel wool particles."
—Erick Coleman, repairman and StewMac tech advisor

Worked extremely well in my opinion

I'm always a tad skeptical about new products but gave the fine and extra fine a try. I finished my frets as I normally do and then used these which made them better so I'll be ordering the rest of the grits before my next fret job.

Fret Erasers

I gave this product a try and found that they are well made, but I could not achieve the same result compared to the 3 sided micro-stick. For me, I'll pass on this and go with the micro products.

Great for fret polishing

The beauty of these is that they conform to the shape of the fret so you get better coverage with less effort. I just completed a level and dress and the frets look wondrful and feel great.

Fret erasers work fine

The fret erasers appear to work quite well at polishing up the frets once the shaping and cleanup have been done. Don't expect them to remove a significant amount of metal, burrs, etc. It's important to protect the fretboard with tape

Wow!!

These are the greatest things ever. The ease of use and the cleanliness, are second only to the finished work they produce.

How good is it when things work like they say they do?

Being a budding guitar mechanic/collector (not a Luthier yet) I've been Leveling/recrowning my own frets lately.
But the final polish work, in the end, never seemed adequate to me. That is up until now. These Fret erasers are as handy as a shirt pocket and they work way better than I ever expected.
The results are a very smooth playing guitar with beautiful shiney frets. (You all know how guitar players like shiney stuff.)
And from what I've seen they should last for years and do hundreds of fret jobs.

A great time saver!

As soon as I saw these I had to try them, and I was not disappointed. These are so much faster than using folded sandpapers, I easily reduced the polishing of newly filed frets by 50%. The fret erasers are not quite as agressive as equivalent grits of sandpaper, but they do a very nice job of polishing frets. Time is money and these save a lot of time without sacrificing quality.

wanted an alternative..

think i've found it with these! Much as I love using sanding and steel wool, i needed an alternative that didn't leave my work bench contaminated. these get the fret super smooth, but if you want the best results, use the micro mesh pads right from 1500 to 12000 after using all of the erasers, and I promise you, you'll have the frets shining better than you've ever seen!
