The narrow beveled edge allows easy and accurate viewing of the gap between the edge and the surface being checked. Made of nickel-plated hardened steel, with a satin finish for easy marking with a pencil, each straightedge is precision-machined for accuracy to ±.0015" per foot.
These straightedges are also ideal for laying out projects on wood or paper, and for setting up table saws, jointers and other shop equipment.
#3850 18" Precision Straightedge is part of our Basic Setup Kit.
For acoustic guitars, our Neck Set Gauge is designed to attach to the #3799 24" Precision Straightedge.

 | February 10, 2009 Your customer service remains second to none; this is surpassed only by the quality of your products. I have purchased a number of straightedges, not only from StewMac but from other North American makers supposedly renowned for their quality. Theirs rusts in the Australian coastal climate in days, yours do not rust, period. A similar comparison can be drawn with customer service, if there is a problem with StewMac, it is never a problem. | | | David Hooker Hervey Bay, Australia | |

 | December 18, 2008 I ordered the Notched Straightedge. When it arrived I compared it to my StewMac 24" straightedge and another standard I keep safe. Both of your edges were dead on and I was able to get perfect relief (.007 to .010)...as always, you folks deliver a fine product with extra fine service. | | | J E Tobey Davenport, IA | |
