Reset loose fret ends without restringing! The end of this handy 5"-long brass tool fits over the crown of a fret, and you simply tap the tool with a hammer. Its slim 3/8" contact surface reseats loose fret ends fast — there's no need to unstring the instrument. It's also great for hand-pressing a loose fret end down while your superglue sets. Setters are available for jumbo and medium fretwires.
Works on stainless frets, too! All of our tools are suitable for use on stainless-steel fretwire, with the exception of our Fret Tang Nippers and Fret Cutters. Modern stainless-steel fretwire is known to be harder than the traditional nickel-silver blends, but our own shop experience indicates the wire does not cause premature wear of files or sandpapers.
