High gloss finishes without swirl marks
Fits variable-speed hand drills

Your finishes can have a more professional look when you use these fiber-free foam buffing pads. They're perfect for applying polishing compounds with your power buffer or variable-speed hand drill.

Foam polishing pads are perfect for applying polishing compounds, like our ColorTone Polishing Compounds. The gentle polishing action helps avoid swirl marks, fine scratches and burn-through, leaving a beautiful mirror-gloss surface.

For the small shop or casual builder, this is a great way to get factory-quality finishes without tedious hand polishing or expensive buffing equipment. Larger well-equipped shops find foam pads handy for getting into tight areas for fast spot refinishing, too. Each pad has a 1/4" arbor—you can use it in a drill press or variable-speed hand drill.

"Hourglass and cone-shaped pads are great for getting into guitar cutaways and hard-to-reach contours. I find a use for them all!"
—Erick Coleman, repairman and StewMac tech advisor

Important: A separate pad should be used for each grade of polishing compound, to avoid adding scratches to the finish. Apply the compounds in sequence, from coarse to fine grades.

Foam Polishing Pad

Oh Yes... I used the 5 1/2 inch pad in my drill press ( at the slowest speed 620 RPM ) for the neck and it did an awesome job, getting in all the curves! It still flung the polish around though! For the body I used a variable speed drill because the throat on my drill press isn't deep enough. I put the body back in my form (with padding)and used a back and forth and up and down pattern, making sure to go all the way to the edges. As you can see front the picture it turned out beautifully!

Nice to have around.

Good for small touch ups and for those who don't have a large buffer.

Smaller is better

I recently purchased the #3410 small foam polishing pads to try. I have the large ones, but I found them to be too unwieldy. The small pads, however, provide for far greater control during polishing, and get into areas (body curves, cutaways, etc.) that the large ones can't. The only reason they don't get a "5" is that to get the ultimate shine I still need to use the power buffer and Minzerna compounds.

Nice!

Worked great! Very little spatter on me. No swirl marks left in the finish.

Best value finishing tool ever

Best value finishing tool for the small shop!. Makes polishing a breeze, still have to do detail polishing and hand rubbing in tight areas but does a great job for the bulk of the work. Saves a lot of time and elbow grease!

great set

i bought the set off all three and they are great. they get the job done and are easy to use, perfect for anyone who doesn't want to shell out for a buffing arbor.

Polish to a Mirror Finish

I have used the foam pads with factory quality success. With the correct polishing papers and compounds my finishes can rival any Fender's factory (or custom shop) shine. I find the smaller pad to be easier to control just because of the possibility of the guitar moving under the stress of the larger pad.

Not as impressed as I thought I'd be.

It seems to shred a little every time I use it...

Work great, but

These things are fantastic for small shops and large but, can you find a way to stop the splatter? LOL

Thanks STEWMAC

These seem to be top quality

Shipped quickly and packaged well. These polishing pads are a must.I ordered all but the cone shaped pad.I have a strat I am refinishing and also a Gibson Explorer I am staining and clear lacquer coating.I am hoping that after I buff and polish them using these pads it will look like glass.
