ColorTone^® Brushing Varnish is a special formulation of our popular ColorTone Waterbase Lacquer, now with slower drying time and enhanced flow-out for ready-to-brush application. This is a good choice for simple instrument finishing projects, when spraying equipment isn't available.

ColorTone Brushing Varnish is applied with a brush straight from the can. We recommend a polyester bristle brush 1-1/2" to 2" wide (available at local hardware stores).

One quart will finish one violin, mandolin, dulcimer or other smaller bodied instrument. Environmentally safe.

Waterbased Varnish

I was skeptical on how hard the waterbased finish would be. Was very pleased with the result. The product performs as advertised in every respect. It finished to a high, even gloss, and appears to be as hard and durable as conventional lacquers.
