Lawrence-McFadden Nitrocellulose Spraying Lacquer

Nitrocellulose lacquer, sprayed in multiple thin coats, has long been the favorite traditional finish for fretted instruments. Lawrence-McFadden lacquer is the choice of many guitar manufacturers, for a hard, durable, easy to spray finish with a beautiful gloss.

Used by Martin, Guild, Fender, Collings, Santa Cruz and Benedetto.

Lawrence-McFadden nitrocellulose lacquer can be sprayed with or without thinning, for fast build-up in multiple coats. It works well with practically any type of spray gun, and normally can be polished and buffed with as little as 7 days curing time.

This professional lacquer is compatible with our ColorTone Liquid Stains, ColorTone Liquid Pigments, and ColorTone Waterbase Grain Filler. It is designed for spraying on wood that has been sealed with Lawrence-McFadden Vinyl Sealer, or directly on unfinished wood surfaces. If thinning is desired, add Lawrence-McFadden Thinner.

One can goes a long way!
One quart will finish:
1 acoustic guitar body and neck.
2 entire mandolins.
2-3 solid guitar or bass bodies.
3-5 electric guitar or bass necks.
4 ukuleles.
2-3 dulcimers.
2-3 banjo rims and necks.
Keep in mind there are many application variables: your spray gun adjustments, PSI used, how heavy the coats are applied, number of coats, and desired thickness of the finish on your instrument.

Lacquer products are flammable! They cannot be shipped outside the USA nor shipped by air within the USA. Nitrocellulose lacquer products should not be used with acrylic lacquers.
