ColorTone Tinted Aerosol Guitar Lacquer

This stuff is perfect for any guitar project. I used it on my stratocaster neck(maple)and it looks awesome. It was a relic that I made and I was so pleased with the stewmac tinted nitro laquer that I will be ordering more.

This was my first time using these particular tinted lacquers. The colors were consistently fabulous and surprising controllable for spray cans. They are VERY soft. I will most definately use these again, but I will also double up on clear coats.

Tobacco and Med Brown Works great as a base color coat to match Mahogany necks to Rosewood, without the hassle and the darker heel you get when using stain.

Works great if you apply lightly. If you want darker use multiple coats.

love the colors. the intermitant spitting however can ruin alot of work.

Very simple to use and the colors look great. The clearcoat you can sand and buff to an amazing shine. If your used to using clear with a hardener this clear is not durable enough. But it shines great.

Following the instructions leads to a great result. I used the sanding sealer, black and clear coat and I have an excellent finish as a result. The spray pattern on these cans are better than most competitors and the biggest thing I found to reduce "spitting" was to make sure the cans were at over 70 degrees.

I've been putting together a les paul type kit and used these products for finishing.
These aerosol cans work GREAT!! My final finish was as good as store bought guitars. The convenience and usability outweigh and outclass anything else in competition with these products.
Don't know how much better an actual spray gun/system would work...I would definitely purchase these again.

I ordered several cans of ColorTone Tinted Aerosol Guitar Lacquer. One arrived without a spray cap. All of them spitted and spat when I used them, leaving tiny globs of paint in the midst of an otherwise perfect sunburst. I ended up having to sand everything back to the wood and refinish with Behlen products. The quality control on these paints is awful. Don't waste your money - use the Behlen products instead and save yourself a lot of time and frustration.

While I would definitely recommend a set of quality spray equipment for repeated builds, these cans of nitrocellulose are absolutely amazing in a pinch. Would gladly buy them for future builds.
