I installed this kit on my Copley Jazz Bass and I was disappointed. I couldn't notice any improvement at all. I was surprised as Alpha pots are good replacements when you can't find/afford CTS pots. I must mention that StewMac wasn't selling CTS pots when I bought this kit. Well, I ended up redoing the wiring upgrade with a Vintage Style kit I ordered somewhere else (forgive me StewMac, please mercy) which came with CTS pots, Switchcraft jack and an Orange Drop capacitor. The sound improvement was very evident and now I can have good control of my bass settings.
If your bass cost less than $500, there's a good chance that these parts will improve your tone. I was surprised to hear such an improvement since I was just hoping to eliminate pot crackle and a cheap jack. The only possible downside is that the pots are larger than the cheap ones in many import basses. I had to rout a larger cavity for them to fit in my Fender PJ bass but when I was done it was well worth it! The only downside is that I would've liked just a few more inches of wire.

Excellent product for anyone who just needs the basic electronics for a bass with 2 pickups and a pot for tone. Worked great for my Ibanez p-j, even though it's intended for a jazz bass. Much larger and of higher quality than the stock electronics. Thank you Stew-Mac!
This wiring kit went into a Fender Jazz Bass that has had everything changed. It sounds great. The wiring kit has better potentiometers than the stock Fender ones. Plenty of wiring and a good input jack make this kit the best out there. I will order from Stewart-MacDonald whenever I need electrical parts for an instrument. Thank you!
I ordered standard shipping and expected my parts within 5 business days. I placed my order on a friday and got my stuff monday! Wow! I was very impressed with the quality of these pots. They're very clean, clear sound, and larger than the usual imports. The wiring was more than long enough for the body cavity and the output jack was of better quality too.
