Reduce unwanted electrical noise by using shielded wire for your longer wiring runs (for example, the connection between the controls and the output jack). This shielded wire contains inner copper conductors covered with polyethylene insulation, which is surrounded by an outer conductive shield, which is connected to ground. The black outer jacket material is PVC.
