Endpin Jack Wrench

All I can say is, THAT was EASY!! Took out an old end-pin jack without it, struggled a bit as I could barely get my tools around it. When I ordered the new jack, I ordered the wrench. Installing the new jack was a breeze thanks to the wrench! If you don't have one, GET ONE!! Life should always be that easy!

This wrench does exactly what it's supposed to. I was able to easily guide the wires into the wrench slot with my fingers, and slide it up and over the terminal. One twist while holding the outside of the pin with my other hand, and I was done. After spending an hour unsuccessfully trying to tighten the endpin jack with all sorts of other tools, this thing took 15 seconds.

After having my wife shove her hand into the sound hole of my Martin D-1E, I decided to look for a solution that I could use. My first stop was StewMac and found precisely what I was looking for. Works like a charm, and it was long enough after my big paw was gently inserted into the sound hole.

After getting this, I still had a heck of a time fitting the thing properly on the jack nut. However, with a webcam and a small flashlight, it was much easier.

Someone gave me a thirty year old Alvirez 12 string with a Barcus-Berry pickup stuck on beneath the saddle. The guitar had pretty much been in the case the entire time. I've been doing minor repairs and setups on electric guitars for a while but decided to tweak this acoustic and if I screwed anything up could afford to take it to a luthier to fix my screw-ups. I put in a Fishman under saddle pup and a new end pin jack. Got the old jack out with a 9/16" deep socket. Realized that wouldn't work for the new jack because of the wires. Simply went to the Stew-Mac site for the answer to the tool problem. Had the end pin jack wrench in my mailbox in two days. One of those tools you just need to have around like a basin wrench for getting to faucet nuts underneath a sink. You won't need it that often, but when you do, it's really the only tool that makes sense!

Used this to repair a loose endpin on a Martin Acoustic...perfect fit! No more Kung Fu grips for me!

I bought this to tighten the endpin jack of my favorite acoustic, but with a smaller than dread soundhole [and bigger than piano player fingers] I couldn't get anywhere near the nut! I am sure that for an experienced luthier or guitar tech, things would be very different but, before you spend your money, make sure the wrench is long enough for your guitar and your hands are small enough to get it there!
