Kent Armstrong Suspended Jazz Humbucker

With all the information available at stewmac project was almost idiot proof. And the end result was far better than anticipated. The pick up is warm and makes the guitar an incredible sounding package.

I recently built my first Jazz acoustic Archtop from Benedetto's book. A success. I chose this pickup over Benedetto's pickup because of it's lower price.

The sound is amazing but I recently found out that Kent Armstrong carry a model which is glued to the underside of the fingerrest instead of this type of fixation - that would have been much easier to install because this interfered with my fingerrest type of fixation. Furthermore, Kent Armstrong also carry a model with adjustable string posts like a humbucker which would make the adjustment easier, especially if you consider that this type of pickup is not height-adjustable once it's installed. Better get it right!

Nonetheless, the sound is amazing and the look is very very nice.

I installed this pickup on fairly inexpensive Korean built archtop and it sounds great!! Very articulate, very very even from bass to treble strings. Extremely open sounding perfect for the straightahead jazz application I bought it for.
