SWEET clean boost ♫

I first got an EMG Afterburner not knowing what I was going to install it in so I mounted it in a Tupperware container and used it like a clean boost pedal for ANYTHING! Vocals, Bass, Guitars, and it worked great on all, can get some noise if you crank it, but just turn it down! Then I got a loaded single coil Carvin AP-11 pick guard and loved their tone but it was weak so I stuck it inline near the output, WHOA ♪ I can actually say it was TOO powerful. BUT, the only drawback to it is their (black only) knob and UN-knurled shaft size? Since they made the shaft diameter thin & not splined, normal Strat knobs will not work? why? Other than that, if you have a need to cleanly boost your signal with low noise, GET ONE! AND the price hasn't changed on these since I got mine too! StewMac ROCKS ♫

fun little gadget

i just recently wired up my afterburner to my les paul copy. replacing one of the tone knobs. my guitar has passive pickups, and i had to figure out how i should wire it up. haven't got around to play around with it to much yet. but the first impression is quite good. clean settings get a solid amount of boost, and it seems that low gained overdrive settings could turn into roaring gained leads. I should probably post a new review when I've really played around with it:P

Sure thing

Just excellent. Easy to install, handy and useful. Throw away your tone knob and replace it with this.
