Knobs with 8-32 thread are for Switchcraft toggle switches,
standard in Gibson® and other American guitars.

Metric knobs with M4 x .7 thread are for metric toggle switches,
popular in guitars made outside the USA.

M3.5 x .6 thread knobs are for modern Epiphone switches.

Color-matching Cream Parts and Bindings
There have always been slight variations in the color of the cream plastic parts used on Gibson and other guitars. It's not uncommon to see brand new and vintage guitars with bindings, pickup rings, toggle switch rings and pickguards that don't perfectly match in color. We do our best to match all our cream products, but there's no absolute control from batch to batch, or from supplier to supplier.

good value

These are cheap and installed with no problems. It would be nice if they would offer one in metal with nylon threadlocking nut. I put a little shellac in the cavity before installation to make it less likely to unscrew

Perfect for Switchcraft

Looks good but you can't go too far wrong with basic black! Fit my Switchcraft switch perfectly.

Toggle Switch Knob

I picked up one of these metric knobs to replace the one that broke off (previous owner's fault) and it was the wrong size (too big), but i decided to try it anyway. I took a small piece of electrical tape and wrapped it around the shaft, then I tightly twisted this knob on to it. After I did these slight modifications, it made for a very solid knob. Now that I am writing the review, StewMac got new items that would have fit perfectly. But overall, make sure you get the right ones.

Not a match for Epiphone

Was not a match for my Korean-made 1997 Epiphone Les Paul (too large). I decided to live with my aged switch knob. Also not fond of the lack of metal threads (plastic only)

Good piece but not for Epiphone Les Paul

Solid piece of plastic. This did not fit my stock Epiphone Les Paul switch, but I planned on replacing the switch anyway.

Poor fit but easily fixed

The metric knob was too loose for the switch post on my new Richmond Empire so I wrapped plumber's tape around the post threads (as a previous reviewer suggested). Fits and looks great now.

Toggle Knob

Ordered a metric toggle knob for my 1972 Sekova Les Paul copy. Apparently they used a lot smaller knobs than Les Paul as I had to sand it down to height and ended up gluing it on as it would not thread on. Works fine with the modifications. Wouldn't be an issue if I had replaced the 3 way toggle, but it was cheaper to replace a missing knob.

Not what I expected

I order this tip with a few pickup rings and a jack plate. They don't match the creme color very well, but in low light it shouldn't be noticeable. I also had fit problems, as it's much to large for an Epiphone..

Knob

I bought it for an old Gibson 335 and yup, it fit right on there.
