Speed knobs are named for their beefy, fumble-free shape—easy to wrap a pinkie around. Sometimes called "hatbox" knobs, they're found on many Gibson guitars.

Choose knobs to press-fit onto fine (CTS) or coarse (Alpha) knurled control pot shafts. Sold individually.

Check your control pot shafts before you order!
Almost all press-on knobs that fit coarse-knurled 18-spline pot shafts (such as Alpha) won't fit fine-knurled 24-spline shafts (such as CTS), and vice versa.

They work

Clearly marked course or fine knurled so you get the correct ones. If you're buying these for pots your purchased here, then get the course knurl knobs for proper pot fit.

Perfect match

Although I ordered these knobs for a new build I still wanted them to match what was on a Gibson. They do this, however they are coarse splines and Gibson uses fine splines... no real problem here, I'm also using StewMac's Alpha pots so the match is perfect!

speed knobs

I received my new knobs in a a very timely manner, as with all of my Stew-Mac purchases. I installed them on my PRS McCarty. The McCarty tone and volume pot splines are different from each other. The knob fit the push/pull tone knob perfectly but there are finer splines on the volume control. No problem. I took a drill bit the same diameter of the opening and drilled it out. Fits great!

Great knobs

I love speed knobs. I put them on most of my guitars. These are great they come in different finishes. I recently purchased the black and the gold. A warning to the buyer these will not fit Gibson pots. So be careful. I love EMG pickups and they have a 18 spline shaft which these fit also they fit Stew-Mac's products.

Speed Knob

High quality knob. We replaced missing knobs on my son's Ibanez Artcore and they are perfect.

Maybe a poor batch?

These knobs did not meet my expectations for the price. On close examination of the six I received, there were surface scratches and the bottoms had an abraded edge in one spot on the rim.

All had a similar radial scratch on the surface in the same location. From a distance, the faults are not apparent. For some customers, these small flaws may not be an issue.

Machining the bottoms flat then coating with acrylic paint followed by surface polishing, brought these knobs up to the quality I require.

On a positive note, the black knobs with white numbers are much easier to read than my previous knobs with white numbers on gold. It would be nice if they could produce a gold knob with dark numbers.
