String Saver Classics Saddles for Floyd Rose

I also purchased the string savers and three of them cracked "at a glance" during the installation. Maybe they do not break the strings, instead they break theirselves... Since I was in a hurry and couldn't send them back again I tried to fix the cracks with some super-glue. That solution managed well for the first String set but not for the next one. I´m not interested anymore in purchasing such a bad item, instead I will purchase steel gear.
Stew Mac works really well, but Graph tech should improve this item, it cracks extremely easy even if you torque like butter..

I purchased the original, all-graphite string saver saddles from stew mac back in '07. since then i've had the same problem that another review had. all the saddles wound up cracking. I emailed the company just recently (march 2011) and explained the situation. They asked where i bought the original set, so i sent them a copy of my Stew Mac invoice. and now i'm getting a replacement set of their new, upgraded saddles.
now, i haven't actually tried the new saddles yet, but so far i am extremely pleased with the way they are handling this situation.

I had really bad luck with these saddles. I really think they improved the sound, but I busted like 4 in a row while clamping the strings in.
The suckers cracked right in half and crumbled right before my very eyes.
Could you imagine a huge failure right before a gig?
I got my money back and a a few words with someone at the company.
I would not recommend these to my worst enemy.
That being said, I am online today to purchase a pair of GT string trees. Caio

These saddles are not made of steel. I contacted the company directly and I was informed that they are in fact cast zinc. The Graphtech string-saver material that is used is the same proven material in all of their other products and it will nearly eliminate string breakage ,at the bridge, forever. I own the solid Graphtech stringsaver, Floyd Rose saddles and they are really cool. NO string breakage. More even harmonic detail, no spike in the 1K frequency range, and a noticeable increase in usable sustain.
