It seems to be 7/8'th scalewize, and if one tries to install it, it screws in losely and floats very close to the body. Not for standard Fender bridges i guess. Otherwize, the quality seems good enough (if you don't use it like Beck or Hendrix).
This does not fit the Fender Deluxe Strat tremolos. I had no idea that the arm on a Fender Deluxe tremolo pops in & locks and doesn't screw in. Plus this one in a much smaller diameter. I was hoping someone at Stewmac would know this since I specifically asked if it would fit and they couldn't tell me. Good thing it is cheap, it would probably cost more to return it so I will just hang on to it.
We give these out free to our customers who have lost tremolo arms and boy does that build a loyal customer base of returning customers. We've been doing this for years.
I bought the gold arm and it arrived quickly and was packaged very well. It fit my 1985 Custom-shop Strat perfectly. The cost was much less than from other sources. As usual Stew-Mac has the parts, the price and the people to make your project perfect and playable. Thanks again.
This arm is sturdy and holds up well. I hack the arm in half to be able to pick the strings close to the bridge and still have "bend power". IF YOU HAVE A MEXICAN STRAT OR SQUIRE STRAT (Or other import) USE THE 6mm STEW-MAC TREMOLO ARM. This arm is smaller in diameter and will only work on the US models.
Seems to be well made, but do not purchase to replace your made in Mexico Stratocaster, it will not fit right.
