Schroeder Stoptail Bridge

I purchased this Schroeder bridge because of the look and the rave reviews posted. However, I was disappointed when the bridge was finally in my hands and so have to add my two cents. The bridge is made of aluminum (not sure of the grade) and is super light. I can not comment on the sound factor as I never installed the bridge and here is why. The intonation screws are held in place with tiny 'C' clips before the threads (not visible in the photos). The bridge I received had three of the 'C' clips installed into the threads. One of 'C' clips popped out when I turned the screw and the other two got stuck. Watch maker needle nose pliers are needed here. I returned the Schroeder and bought the Schaller model and am very satisfied with the quality, reliability and appearance.

I have recently received your stoptail bridge and fitted it to my PRS Soapbar II. A great product that improves the sound quality of the guitar. I am no expert but I think it's the brass saddles that make the difference to the tonal quality. One point of contact with the string at the bridge is bound to be better. Many thanks for your prompt service.

The extra adjustment range saved my re-issue Melody Maker that has the bridge post set to close. I even had to get the next size longer set screws to push the bridge back far enough but this bridge was able to make the stretch and get all the strings intoned. I love the brass saddles for sound and the look of the bridge is also extra nice.

The Schroeder Chrome Stoptail Bridge added so much to my PRS style guitar kit— accurate intonation, better sustain and great style.

My bridge installation was set back a day when I found I didn't have a 1/16" allen wrench. The TonePros stoptail bridges I've purchased include the appropriate size wrench (metric) with their bridges. Other than that, the bridge has better tone and is way more comfortable (better palm mutes) than my TonePros guitars. Bravo.

Comes without mounting posts .. not the best choice for a staggered mount but great quality

I was looking for a wrap around style bridge/stop piece with a relatively low profile and some style. I came across the Schroeder and it fit my needs. It is well designed and functions great.

One note, I made an error while I was notching the brass saddle pieces and ended up needing replacements. StewMac does not carry the replacement pieces. I ended up contacting Jason Schroeder directly and was able to order them from him. He and his wife were very helpful and nice to deal with.

I think I've tried every make of "tune-o-matic-type" wrap-over bridge on the market. They're either too heavy or the adjustable saddles are too loose or both. I have a pretty good idea on how this bridge is built, I just have a hard time imaging why nobody has done it before.

I've installed two of them (so far). One's on a 1960 single cutaway Gibson Melody Maker-D and the other is on a `07 R-4 Historic Les Paul. What's so great about this that the others don't give? Well, it is made from Machined Aircraft Aluminium which is much more consistent than the typical cast aluminium, the Stainless Steel screws are very good at transferring vibrations and the Brass Saddles are the same grade as the original Gibson Brass from the `50's. The tolerances are very tight. Unlike typical TOM bridges that the saddles and screws move from vibrations, these don't. Tighter tolerances mean great string/vibrations transfer. It has a nice full, warm and harmonically rich aspect to it.

The note detail and clarity is also improved. If you have a guitar with a Wrap-over bridge/tail piece, then you owe it to yourself to get one of these!
