Specs
2-3/16" (55.56mm) string spread. Six strings mount through the guitar body (use our string ferrules). The octave strings mount at the rear of the bridge.

This bridge also enables the use of six tuning machines at the guitar's headstock, and six tuners at the butt of the guitar body, reducing the weight at the headstock. Six octave string mounting holes must be drilled in the headstock, with ferrules installed.

This bridge is not interchangeable with our Hardtail Bridge.

Good idea; execution could be better

I thought this bridge was the answer to a design conundrum; 6 Steinbergers on the headstock, 6 Steinbergers abaft the bridge. This design means the aft-tuned strings need to take 2 right-angle turns, though, one at the bridge and another to turn aft to meet the tuner. This way the tuning knobs are on top, arrayed behind the bridge. The problem is that the string really should go over rollers in both instances, and the saddles on this bridge do not incorporate actual rollers, just cylindrical pins through the saddles, machined to LOOK like rollers. Also, the metal used for the saddles is very light, might be aluminum, but might be zinc.
Gotoh, if you're listening, please up the ante a bit on this bridge. Use real rollers for the through-body strings (or both!) and make the saddles out of something more substantial.
