Lightweight bridge for distinctive tone. Both mount on Allen height-adjustable studs in threaded bushings.

Sold individually or SAVE when you buy the bridge and tailpiece set.

The Gotoh 510 Tune-o-matic Bridge is designed for absolute stability. Allen screws lock the individually adjustable saddles, height adjustment studs (this bridge uses no thumbscrews) and the overall bridge intonation angle. The result is better sustain, rock-solid intonation and improved string energy transfer. The saddles have helpful starter grooves to guide your notching files. Made of zinc. M8 x 1.25 thread.

The Gotoh 510 "Stop" Tailpiece pivots on unique ball-end threaded locking studs, for straight string pull. Spring retainer clips prevent the tailpiece from falling off when the strings are removed, to save your guitar's finish from accidental dings. Made of lightweight aluminum for distinctive tone. M8 x 1.25 thread.

About bridge & tailpiece measurements

String spread is the distance between the centers of the outer strings on a bridge or tailpiece.

Saddle radius determines the arc formed by all the individual saddle heights, and is similar to the measurement of a fretboard.

Stud/post spacing is the distance between the centers of the mounting posts of a bridge or 'stop' tailpiece.

Tip: Slotting Tune-o-matic style saddles
Nut slotting files work great for metal saddles. Simply use the same techniques you'd use for nut slotting (read more in Making a Nut, Step-by-Step). After filing to the desired depth, we suggest polishing the slot with Mitchell's Abrasive Cord to remove file marks and burrs.

Starting on the brand new, un-played guitar, and using the OE bushings, the posts screwed straight into the Epi '56 Gold Top. The saddle notches aligned the strings perfectly so I didnt have to shift them. In fact I didnt even deepen the slots as they retained the strings no matter how hard I hit or bent them. After set-up, the supplied allen keys locked everything in place. Each key fits only one place so there's no confusion. The tail also gets tilted by the string tension so I lowered it until the back edge just touched the bushes to retain that tilt. Strings were still well clear of the bridge. I should mention that I had also modified the OE plastic nut by removing all the excess material to expose half of each string above it's slot. After a clean-out, I lubed each channel and replaced the strings. I then set the string height and matched the pole pieces to the string radius. Result; the notes and chords keep on ringing like I have a sustainer on! I still get caught out thinking there is a compressor somewhere in the signal chain. Nice and clean looking parts as well. A privilege to have them!

Gotoh 510 fits nicely on an Epiphone Les Paul

It took me a while to figure out which bridge to purchase - I thought all Gibsons / Ephiphones were the same - so be sure to double check the studs are the correct size and spacing. This bridge is very nice. Everything locks up tight (the stud screws lock inside the body bushings, the bridge locks tight against both mounting studs, and each saddle locks down.) Even the intonation assembly is tight but smooth - there are no places to buzz and steal your tone away. This is a very nice bridge design and is well built. The only thing missing were the instructions.

Nice bridge

I have not yet installed this on my current build, however on inspection this bridge is clearly very solid. I really like that the overall intonation is adjustable and that nearly everything locks (it would be nice if the tailpiece locked to the studs, but it does clip in quite solidly, and that's the only thing that doesn't lock). The chrome finish is also nearly flawless, and the look of the bridge piece is unique, clean and classic. The only concern I have is explaining to the customer what all the hex keys do! It would be good if the bridge came with instructions to pass on to the not so technically inclined.

an upgrade that works!

Hi everyone!
I installed this Gotoh510 with the tail-piece in my Qingdao Epiphone Les Paul Custom.I used the original studs (because I suspect they are well glued to the guitar-body),But the the metric stud-screws and the rest of the kit is perfect fit..With the hex-screws on the bridge tightened well to the stud-screws,I could actually hear the improvement on the sustain and the tone as well,Really cool stuff this,I would certaintly recommend this product as an good/useful upgrade to all the Epiphone Les Paul-owners around!

Goto 510 Rocks

I was previously having issues with stability and noise on my custom made acrylic PRS. Once I put the Goto 510 bridge and tailpiece on they went away. There was also a very noticable improvement in the tone and sustain. I recommend the Goto 510 to anyone looking for a low cost big bang upgrade.

The absolute best T.O.M. design to date!

I've used this Gotoh 510 locking bridge on quite a few guitars thus far. Most recently on a '05 Ibanez IC400 Iceman. You simply cannot beat the solid tonal response you get from the strings with one of these. The improvement in sustain is also very dramatic. I've never used the tailpiece though, so I cannot say anything about that.
