Luthier Jason Shroeder designed this stylish new adjustable wraparound bridge/tailpiece. Standard 3-1/4" stud spacing makes it a direct replacement for LP Junior and PRS stoptail bridges. That cool deco "boattail speedster" shape is functional—the smoothly contoured, string-grooved top surface is a comfortable snag-free palm rest for playing. Stringing is faster, too. The solid flat underside makes front string loading easier, without scratching the guitar's finish—a great improvement over original open-bottom stoptail bridges.
The Schroeder Stoptail is a high quality bridge made in USA, crafted from lightweight aluminum for tone. It has individual stainless steel intonation screws with retainer clips and unplated brass saddles (supplied unslotted). Two 1/16" (1.59mm) Allen screws adjust overall intonation (Allen wrench included).
Tip: The 11" saddle radius can be adapted to a 10" or 12" radius by filing deeper outer or inner saddle slots as needed. Jason Schroeder recommends our Understring Radius Gauges to do the job accurately.
What customers have to say [Sent to Jason Schroeder, maker of the Schroeder Stoptail Bridge] "I'm a part-time small shop luthier. I've been looking for a decent adjustable/intonable stoptail bridge. I found that the available models were either too heavy, made from cheap zinc, or the design was lacking in elegance. I love what you did with yours! I even went as far as looking into having something similar custom made but found it was just cost prohibitive for my small shop only putting out 10 or so guitars a year. Anyway to my surprise I was browsing StewMac's site and found yours. I ordered 3 on the spot! Got the bridges today and they are very nice! Just wanted to say thanks for offering these." —Earl Franklin, Bellingham WA
"The Schroeder stoptail bridge has brought my guitars to a new level of playability and sonic capability, in the studio and on stage." —Tommy Kessler, Guitarist for Blondie
