The only downside was that I had to swap the rim hooks on the Waverly tailpiece with those on my old tailpiece. Once that was done, everything fit perfectly.
good quality...no rough edges
This is a nice, sturdy, well made tailpiece. It works nicely on that old Kay, Regal, Bruno, Slingerland or no-name vintage Chicago banjo you are trying to restore. The brass is heavy enough. You will never break it no matter how close to the head you adjust it or how heavy your strings. The other reviewer knocked it for not being identical to the pre-War Waverlys. I don't mind. It is a fraction of the cost and readily available. My only wish is that it were available in a 4-string version without the hole. A word of advice: Do not use the back screw to adjust it under tension. Use your thumb to push the leading edge towards the head, then use the back screw to take up the slack. This avoids any possibility of wearing out or stripping the screw.
Not impressed with this tailpiece which is meager in thickness and lacks the traditional "meat" of the trad Waverley.
