Presto Banjo Tailpiece

This is the the kind of parts you don't expect from a good supplier like Stewart-MacDonald. It is so far the worst presto tailpiece I have seen. The Presto name is not even stamped completely missing a few letter parts, the hinged cover is almost 1/4 inch over the tailpiece surface and is very thin compare to an original one. Overall this is a very bad reproduction. I had bought other Presto tailpiece here in the past and they were much better in quality.

I purchased one of your presto tailpieces and was very disappointed with the quality of this part. The reason I purchased this was to replace a cheap flimsy presto that came with a used banjo I had bought. I was very disappointed to see that your tailpiece was even worse than the one I wanted to replace. Also, the tailpiece shown in you photos appears to be much of much better quality than the one I received. The one you sent me looks really cheap. It looks just like one that I turned down because of the poor quality. All of the other items I received were of good quality but I wasn't happy with the cheap presto tailpiece! Next time I'll be sure to ask a lot of questions before ordering anything.

Excellent quality. The two I recently received were the 3rd and 4th ordered. Stewmac's processing and ship time continue to be amazing.

A customer had brought in a banjo for repair. A little research revealed it to be an early Great Lakes Banjo, Standard Model. An elegant instrument indeed. A quick once over revealed the tailpiece to be cracked at the bend. A quick look into the StewMac catalog revealed a suitable if not exact replacement. Presto-Change-O! The banjo lives again!

This Presto tailpiece is quite sturdy, easy to install,looks rather good and makes a nice, solid connection to the head ring. Gotta love a part that just slips in and does it's job like it's always been there.

Fit and finish are very nice. Easy to apply and use. Along with Waverly tuners I'm a happy dude.

I was more than satisfied with the quality and price. The nickel finish was rich and flawless. Also the cover has nice tension so it doesn't vibrate like most clam-shells do. Shipping was very fast !!
