A new alternative for old-time banjos. This tailpiece was designed by classical banjoist Fred Van Eps in the early 20th century, and modified in the '60s by Peter Colby. The result is a combination of distinctive appearance and functionality. String downforce and straighter string pull over the bridge add brightness and "snap." The Colby tailpiece is made of lightweight sturdy aluminum and accepts standard loop-end banjo strings.
See details below
Important: The Colby tailpiece mounting bolt has a fixed length, so measure your banjo before you order. The distance from the underside of the tailpiece (the top of your tension hoop) to the bottom of the mounting bolt is approximately 1-15/16" (49.21mm). The tailpiece will extend approximately 2-1/16" (52.39mm) over your banjo.
