Good quality tailpiece. Easy to install and it fit my vintage tenor banjo rebuild like it was made for it. However, the spring tension on the clamshell was so light that it rattled badly on certain chords. Fixed the problem by gluing a piece of ultra-suede inside.

My tailpiece came with strings I ordered. They came lighting fast to my delivery sevice just across the line in Washington. What can I say? Stew Mac is THE BEST. Their online help guys are incredible, a real first class act.
I like this tailpiece but found it a little rattly. A stick on felt surface saver type thing stuck to the underside of the cover sorted that out.
Tailpiece works very well. No more snags in shirt cuffs, or scratches on my arm from stray string ends. No discernible change in sound. Price very reasonable and Stewmac's delivery was exceptionally fast as usual.
