I had to sand this bridge a little because of the vintage banjo I used it on, plus I put a little stain to match the banjos finish. The end result was that my customer was happy with the results. Once again Stewmac assisted me with maintaining customer satisfaction.
The sound that this bridge sends to the resonator and returns is outstanding.
I took a chance on this bridge to replace an old one on a tenor banjo, even though the old one was 1/2" and not 5/8". When I put it in place, sure enough, it was too high. So I thinned down the top ebony, filed in some new string grooves, took a little off the bottom of the bridge, and it worked great. I wish Stewmac had 1/2" height bridges, but if you can't find one elsewhere, there is enough wood on these bridges to adjust height some by removing wood.
