Good!

Good Book, well explained!

Not written for those without much electronics background!

I purchased this book to get a better understanding of wiring for electric guitars, phasing & coil tapping. What is obvious is the author has a solid grasp of the body of information regarding electronics but what is lacking is a thorough explanation of the topics discussed.

I also found that within a chapter, there is no logical flow or sequence from one point to the next. Kinda reminds me of when I was in college & having one of those professors who really knew their stuff -- so much that they got offended when you'd ask a question that in their mind you should have already known!

I would not recommend this book unless you have an electronics background (which I do not) or you have a good foundational understanding of guitar electronics.. which if either of those two were the case, you probably wouldn't need this book anyway..

Not what I was hoping for

I agree with the previous reviewer. This book is not as helpful or as well organized as free info on the Internet. It did not help me achieve my goal of a basic understanding of guitar wiring.

this book is very dated...

Spent to much time explaining the inner workings of pickups and not enough time showing how the pickup generated current flows to jack being directed by the switch. The FREE information available on the internet is a far better resource to understanding guitar electronics. A two thumbs down for this book.

Great basic wiring guide

When I was first becoming a do-it-yourself player/ repairman this book was my wiring bible for standard and some modified wiring diagrams. I still refer to it more than 25 years later.
