Curly Maple Back Wood For Mandolin or Violin

My first order of the maple was very impressive, all was well worth the money. The second batch had one good piece, one so-so and one that was only useful for a much smaller instrument due to barky, pithy, contamination on a large part of one side. If inspected well, can be worth the money.

the wood was well packed and delivered in three days thats as good as my local postal service.The wood was a delight to see, plenty of potential there I thought The flame was good and visible in the rough allowing for positioning decisions to start early .The condition of the wood when worked was superb, crisp cuts with all sharp tools in any direction across the grain giving
a sharp reflectivity to the surface of the wood.I will enjoy working with my students to do justice to what nature has provided for us here. Thank you .Mike
