Flametop Guitar Body

After seeing some of the pictures of finished guitars, I decided to go for a Blue burst Strat body. The first one I received was almost black with very little flame on the front. StewMac's CS guy was very helpful and no complaints at all in that area. He offered to 'hand select' a replacement body for me and advised that I could return the original whenever. However, he emailed to say that none of the bodies they had in stock had much flame and he sent the best they had. So I now had a body and neck and started the build. When I put the neck in the neck pocket, it was way out with the top E hanging at least 1/8th inch over the side. I did all the adjustment I could on the pocket, but it was still only level with the edge of the neck. My only solution was to enlarge the tremelo cavity to get the bridge far enough over and widen the cutout on the pickguard. This left a visible gap on the treble side of the bridge. The guitar is ok, but this was a problem build from start to finish.

I just received the Tobacco Burst pre-finished body in the mail. It is a beautifully done piece of wood. Very clean and carefully finished with no blemishes. I am very happy with this item and am now considering ordering one for myself!

You just can't go wrong with this item! I chose the tobacco flavor and I can honestly say I'm very pleased. The finish is flawless! BUY ONE or seven or ten. Nothing but great service too! Hey...someone actually answered an e-mail question I had. Everyone at Stew Mac should be proud of the service and products they sell. EVERYBODY GETS A RAISE!!!

Very pleased with the quality and trim parts. Everything is perfect and going. The sound is excellent - sustain, glass. This strat!

Very nicely done strat style body. The finish is a high gloss as clear as glass. highly recomended for either a replacement or a DIY project.

The handsome quilt top is complemented by a precise cut which makes assembly a joy!

I was impressed when the body that arrived was not only just as flawless as the picture, but also more beautiful than expected.

The only issue with the body is on mine the input jack wire hole was very very small, I needed to fit 2 wires through that hole, but it barely ended up fitting one. I used a smaller wire with 1 regular sized and I barely ended up wedging it through the one hole...that being said...with every other hole they were perfect size, all and all, these bodies are an amazing deal.

I've buy the "Tobacco Burst", the blue was out of stock...It really doesn't matter.
In my body, the neck holes don't formed a perfect square, but this not really critical. More critical: the tremolo mass hole is a little too small to place precisely a Hipshot Tremolo. On installing, we can see the mass touch the 6th string side of the hole, while the strings are a little diverted towards 1st string edge...

Nothing TOO critical, but we must to route a little to correct this.
