African Mahogany blanks can be shipped outside the USA, and are becoming a popular alternative to restricted traditional Honduras mahogany. The wood is beautiful when finished in clear or tinted lacquer. Mahogany is open-grained, and filler should be used to level the pores before applying a finish. This is a solid, 1-piece blank.

Very nice piece of wood.

The wood is as advertised. Nice grain, no knots or blemishes. Mine came nice and flat and ready to go.

A little pricey, but it is hard to find one piece of lumber this thick and wide. Usually you would have to glue them up, so I think the premium price is worth it in this case.

Great mahogany for LP body

Great piece of wood, delivered in The Netherlands in just over 2 days. Wood is flat and thickness is perfect!

Niiiiice!

Everything about this piece of timber is nice! Great colour, spot on dimensions, flat and also has a nice figure.... almost a pity to cover it with a veneer. I could rave on about it for ages but I will restrain myself! Another quality item from StewMac!

tone wood

what can you say about a nice piece of african hog. nice tap tone, very musical wood. i added a nice red spruce top. should sound pretty good .

Well worth it.

I ordered my second piece of Mahogany from StewMac and couldn't be happier. The piece is in great condition, both faces are perfectly flat and the sides are cut to exact the dimensions listed. I cant wait to turn this piece into an instrument that'll be in my family for generations.

As always, StewMac's service is second to none. I ordered the piece Thursday morning, and it was at my door two days later on Saturday morning.

Solid and Beautiful

This piece was perfect. Nice and solid, awesome color, and I love the fact that its one piece. I almost went with a 3-4 joined piece of poplar from LMI, glad I didn't. Well worth the money. Cant wait to start cutting into it.

Great piece to start my guitar!

This Mahogany blank arrived as scheduled, and was of very good quality. Both faces were cut and sanded to be smooth and flat. The edges, cut exactly to the dimensions listed, were still in rough cut but straight and square. Over all, a good piece for my first scratch build.

I cant argue with the price either, after searching several websites I'm happy with StewMac's Mahogany blanks and will definitely be a returning customer.
